Solving Big Problems: Energy

What if instead of trying to solve problems like the energy issue by creating large fields of solar power plants and entire hillsides covered in "wind farms," we tried using small solutions.

I know people have suggested putting solar panels on every roof, and I think that's great, but what about this:

What if there were tiny hydro-electric generators in every downspout on every gutter, and in every storm drain?

They could all be hooked into the power grid somehow. So whether it was raining or sunny, every home and business would be producing energy, either through solar or rain-powered hydro generators.

Large problems can be solved with tiny solutions sometimes.
